Are you an experienced and skilled Logistics Manager looking for an exciting opportunity? We are seeking a talented individual to join our clients team in Wangaratta as a Logistics Manager. If you have a forklift license, the ability to fill in for staff when they are on leave, and a strong background in cold storage and transport management, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the logistics operations in our Wangaratta facility.
  • Coordinate and optimize the movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Supervise and support a team of two direct reports, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Utilize your forklift license to assist with warehouse operations and fill in for staff during their absence.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including procurement, sales, and production, to ensure smooth logistics processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and implement inventory control measures.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best service and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or a similar role, preferably in a cold storage environment.
  • Valid forklift license and hands-on experience operating forklifts.
  • Ability to step in and fill in for staff during their absence, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Strong knowledge of cold storage operations, including temperature control, product handling, and storage requirements.
  • Proficient in organizing and coordinating transportation activities, including route planning and carrier selection.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics software is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
