A leading industrial company based in Milperra with a presence across Australia and New Zealand, dedicated to delivering excellence in their field. As a private Australian company, they pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation and growth. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join their dynamic team.
The Financial Controller will be a key player in managing all financial accounting functions for the company. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role encompasses oversight of financial accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, BAS submissions, and internal audits. In addition, you will have some secondary HR responsibilities. This is a hands-on role based in the office, with four direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage financial accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Manage payroll operations, including preparation, processing, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure adherence to taxation requirements.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure financial integrity and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide support and guidance to a team of four direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Assist with secondary HR responsibilities, including but not limited to employee records, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA) highly preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in financial accounting, payroll, and BAS submissions.
- Experience with Pronto or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and senior management.
